Sea Seeker sells big-game offshore and marine fishing tackle from Ballito · KwaZulu-Natal · South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. There is no account to create and no online checkout.
- Enquiry form — your name, email address, the category you selected and the message you write.
- SS Direct access requests — your name and email address.
- Analytics — if analytics is enabled, Google Analytics records anonymous usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location by country, device type and referring site. Your IP address is truncated before storage and we cannot identify you from it.
We do not collect payment details on this site, because no payment is taken on it. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your name, email and message for one purpose: to answer your enquiry and to quote, supply or order the tackle you asked about. Our lawful basis is the legitimate interest of responding to someone who has contacted a business about its products, and where relevant the performance of a contract with you.
Analytics is used to understand which pages and products people find useful, so we can improve the site. We do not use it to profile you, we run no advertising pixels and we do not track you across other websites.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for marketing. It is shared only with the service providers that make this site work — our hosting provider, our email provider, and Google Analytics where enabled. Where a supplier order requires it, we share what is needed to fulfil that order. Some of these providers process data outside South Africa.
If you contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and access requests are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a record of the business relationship, and no longer than is reasonably necessary. Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Cookies
This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Where analytics is enabled, it may set a first-party cookie to tell repeat visits apart. Visitors from the EU, UK and Switzerland are measured without cookies at all. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to the site.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer have grounds to keep;
- stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS, admin access is password protected and restricted, and enquiries are stored on access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the site.
